Job summary

The Cancer & Hematology Centers in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a Medical Technologist to perform diagnostic laboratory testing and report results. The role includes QC, instrument maintenance, and collaboration with the lab team to ensure accurate patient results.

Requirements include a BS in Medical Technology, ASCP certification, and a willingness to work 40 hours/week at our Kenmoor campus with primary site responsibilities in Grand Rapids. Prior LIS experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree and successful completion of medical technologist internship.
• Must pass registry exam and have current certification (ASCP or equivalent).
• Two years of related work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of LIS, chemistry and hematology instrumentation; color vision required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing on patient specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and reports results.
• Performs quality control procedures and maintains instruments.
• Assists the laboratory manager in maintaining an efficient and effective laboratory operation.
• Maintains documentation and adheres to CLIA regulations.
• Communicates with peers and clinicians to support patient care and workflow.
