Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Medical Social Worker at Kellogg Cancer Center in Evanston, IL to join the interdisciplinary team. The MSW will perform psychosocial assessments, support patients and families, and help identify practical and financial needs to facilitate cancer care.

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm, with travel to Swedish Hospital Cancer Center as needed. The role emphasizes crisis management, resource education, and collaborative care planning

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work from an accredited school is required.
• Illinois licensure as LCSW or LCSW-eligible is required.
• 2–3 years of social work experience in an acute hospital or health-care setting is required; oncology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify new chemotherapy patients and conduct initial psychosocial assessments.
• Assess mental health concerns, substance use history, and decision-making capacity as needed.
• Educate patients and families on resources and coordinate connections to services.
• Provide ongoing emotional support, counseling, and care coordination during treatment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and improve care planning and referrals.
• Document clinical interventions in the patient record in a timely manner.
