Job summary

Endeavor Health's Kellogg Cancer Center in Evanston, IL seeks a Medical Social Worker (MSW) to join its interdisciplinary team. The role focuses on psychosocial assessments, emotional support, and resource coordination for cancer patients and families.

The candidate will work Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5pm with no weekend or holiday shifts, and travel to Swedish Hospital Cancer Center as needed. Requires an MSW, IL LCSW eligibility, and 2–3 years of hospital social work experience, preferably in

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited school.
• Illinois licensure as LCSW or LCSW-eligible is required.
• 2-3 years of social work experience in an acute hospital/health-care setting is required; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify new chemotherapy patients and conduct initial psychosocial assessments.
• Assess mental health concerns, substance use history, and financial concerns as needed.
• Educate patients and families on internal and community resources and facilitate connections.
• Provide ongoing emotional support and short-term counseling during treatment.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team for referrals and support.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety assessments as needed.
• Document all interventions in the clinical record in a timely manner.
