Oncology Medical Director Opening in Waterford, CT

Located on the Southeast Connecticut shoreline

Details:

1. Full-time, permanent position
2. Seeking a Medical Oncologist with demonstrated leadership experience to serve as Medical Director and lead the Cancer Institute's programs in our East Region. The East Region leader will oversee cancer care at two hospitals and four ambulatory medical oncology practice sites, all of which have been newly constructed or renovated in the last 5 years.
3. The Cancer Institute comprises over 40 medical oncologists who are local and national leaders. Many have advanced sub-specialty training, supported by a multidisciplinary team of medical and surgical specialists. The institute's structure includes disease management teams and clinical councils that set standards of care, develop clinical trials, and foster program development. Its mission is to provide equitable, patient-centered cancer care within a healthcare system committed to quality improvement and research. The institute handles more than 7,000 cases annually.

Qualifications:

• Medical Oncologist with at least 5 years of leadership experience
• Advanced degrees in health administration, business, public health, or quality are highly desirable
• Eligible for licensure in Connecticut
• Experience in patient-centered, evidence-based clinical care within a multidisciplinary team
• Intellectual curiosity to develop community-based oncology care models that are scholarly, scalable, and equitable
• Skills to establish and maintain clinical research
