Job description

Seeking a full-time BE/BC Medical Oncologist with breast cancer sub-specialization to join 4 breast medical oncologists in expanding a cancer center.

1. This position is open to mid-career medical oncologists and physicians completing their fellowship with an interest in breast oncology, who wish to further their professional development within an academic-community healthcare system.
2. The busy breast service manages over 600 new breast cancer cases annually, cared for by a multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained breast surgeons, medical, and radiation oncologists specializing in breast cancer.
3. The clinical team is supported by pathologists, radiologists (many fellowship-trained), reconstructive surgeons, a mature genetic counseling program, and an active nurse navigator program.
4. Programs in survivorship, high-risk care, patient education, and breast rehabilitation are in development.
5. Breast Tumor Board convenes weekly to discuss patient management.
6. Hospitalist teams handle inpatient care, with medical oncology providing consult services.
7. Opportunities exist for teaching, clinical research, and quality/outcomes research, with a preference for candidates with academic accomplishments in clinical trials or quality improvement.
