Job summary

Advocate Radiation Oncology is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks, acting as a primary point of contact for patients and providers. The role includes patient intake, documentation, and coordination of tests and appointments.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of medical assistant experience and preferably CMA or LPN certification, with strong EMR and office-management software skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical assistant experience.
• Preferred CMA or LPN certification.
• Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures.
• Excellent time management and ability to multi-task.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Proficiency in EMR and practice management software; knowledge of QPP.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interview patients; document medical history and vital signs; record in EMR.
• Complete medical forms; obtain signatures; document activities per guidelines.
• Identify abnormal findings; communicate with physician; document assessments.
• Prepare, clean, stock exam rooms and instruments.
• Assist during examinations and in-office procedures.
• Follow up on patient results and communicate with physician.
• Schedule outpatient testing, physician visits, radiology, biopsy appointments; coordinate referrals and authorizations.
• Update and scan medical records and insurance documents for continuity of care.
• Assist in patient education; maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and QPP compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure quality patient care.
