Job summary

Carolina Oncology Specialists in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support for physicians and the oncology team. The role ensures efficient patient flow, prepares patients for examinations and procedures, and maintains accurate documentation in the EMR.

You will assist with clinical procedures, maintain sterile technique, and support a compassionate, patient-centered environment while upholding HIPAA requirements and high standards of oncology

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient assessment techniques.
• Ability to accurately obtain and document patient information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and compassion in a fast-paced oncology environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office technology.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients in a timely and professional manner.
• Obtain and accurately record patient vital signs and information.
• Collect and document patient medical histories and medications.
• Prepare examination and procedure rooms and ensure supplies are available.
• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
• Provide direct procedural support and assist with bone marrow biopsies as directed.
• Document patient care activities in the EMR and coordinate patient flow.
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
