Southern Cancer Center in Mobile, AL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our oncology team and deliver patient-centered care in a collaborative clinic.

You will take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, administer injections as delegated, and manage routine administrative tasks. Requirements include a high school diploma, MA program completion, 0–3 years clinical experience, current BCLS, CMA preferred, and state certification as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• 0–3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
• Current BCLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire).
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Must meet any state‑specific certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and treatment areas
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication updates
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; order supplies as needed
• Assist with exams and procedures
• Administer injections (subcutaneous/intramuscular) as delegated
• Maintain room disinfection protocols
• Answer patient calls and relay messages to clinical staff
• Phone in prescriptions and follow up with patients
• Support administrative tasks: scheduling, chart prep, filing, and reception
