Job summary

City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse III for the Medical Surgical Unit. This 20‑bed unit cares for oncology patients including those undergoing chemotherapy and post‑operative care, with a night shift focus and differential pay.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing, CA RN license, BLS and ACLS, and ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification; 3–5 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing.
• Current CA Registered Nurse License.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process and practice standards for patient care management.
• Assess patient conditions, recognize early signs of complications, and respond effectively.
• Delegate to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies it to patient documentation.
• Prioritizes holistic care, addressing physical and emotional needs of patients.
• Mentors and models best practices for new staff.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary care planning and documents according to standards.
