Job summary

City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital in Irvine, CA, seeks a Clinical Nurse III in the Medical Surgical Unit to provide specialized oncology-focused care to a diverse patient population, including those undergoing chemotherapy and postoperative care.

You will lead assessments, coordinate care, document thoroughly, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists and the care team. This 20-bed unit operates with night shifts and provides opportunities for differential pay.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing is required.
3–5 years related experience.
Current CA Registered Nurse License.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association.
ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification.

Responsibilities

Guide and coordinate care for a diverse range of patients, including oncology-focused care.
Provide specialized oncology-focused care and ensure highest standards of treatment.
Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor treatment-related side effects and post-operative complications.
Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans and document thoroughly.
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists and interdisciplinary teams to support patients during active treatment and recovery.
Mentor and support new staff while delivering compassionate care.
