Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Austell, GA is seeking an experienced LPN to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, following the nursing process and ensuring age-appropriate care. This role supports the oncology care team within a large integrated health system.

You will coordinate tests, prepare patients for exams, educate patients and families, and participate in staff meetings and continuing education to stay current in oncology care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; nursing certificate acceptable.
• LPN license required; BLS/ARC-BLS or BLS-Instructor certifications required upon hire.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred, oncology/outpatient setting preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem solving, organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care under RN supervision and within nursing process.
• Coordinate care with RN and team; inform changes in patient condition.
• Provide patient and family education; use teach-back technique.
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation within established timelines and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in staff education, in-services, and oncology care updates.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement.
