Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a part-time LPN to provide direct patient care in an oncology/ambulatory setting. The role reports to a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager and focuses on helping patients with physical and emotional needs, coordinating tests and education, and maintaining accurate medical records.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills, effective communication, and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; LPN license required upon hire
• All certifications (LPN, BLS) required unless stated otherwise
• Oncology/ambulatory/outpatient experience preferred
• Positive leadership, strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication; computer literacy required

Responsibilities

• Assess and assist with patient needs under RN oversight and nursing process
• Perform routine nursing procedures under RN supervision
• Meet established productivity standards
• Access and de-access ports using sterile technique
• Administer medications within LPN scope of practice
• Collaborate with RN and care team to coordinate patient care
• Provide patient education to patients and families
• Document accurately within established timeframes
