Job summary

Quest Diagnostics INC seeks a Lab Supervisor in Baltimore, MD to lead the Oncology department, manage staffing and ensure quality results. Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with responsibility for scheduling and prioritizing non-routine procedures.

The role requires extensive lab leadership, adherence to CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA, and hands-on testing when needed. Strong communication and supervisory skills essential for team development and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (2) years full-time laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee activities of the department, distribute/assign work, determine priorities, schedule non-routine procedures.
• Supervisory functions including interviewing, hiring, training and staff development.
• Perform advanced/specialized tests and related laboratory techniques; verify results and reevaluate methods.
• Check/approve all specialized and problem reports for accuracy.
• Initiate quality-control measures and monitor quality of work for adherence to standards.
• Perform duties of technologist as needed by absence or peak workload.
• Complete special projects such as surveys, reports, studies or research.
• Maintain lab areas and equipment in safe, sanitary condition.
• Complete training and competency checklists; adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements.
• Use PPE and engineering/work practice controls; assist in inspections.
