Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• ASCP/AMT certification as applicable per degree.
• MLS I may have no prior professional laboratory experience; MLS II requires relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived/point of care, moderate, and high complexity CLIA testing as appropriate.
• Investigates and resolves problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, and monitors accuracy of laboratory testing.
• Prepares reagents and assists in preparation of standard and control materials.
• Monitors reagent inventory and maintains laboratory supplies.
• Reviews test results for accuracy and timely correction of errors.
• Reports laboratory results and consults with healthcare providers as needed.
• Participates in education and training of new employees and learners.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Biological Science, or Associate's Degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Technology
