Job summary

Texas Oncology Round Rock is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (IV Admixture) to join the team at Round Rock location. This full-time role supports IV admixture in a clinic/pharmacy setting, with alternating shifts and no weekends.

Roles range from Level 1 to Sr based on experience, providing opportunities to learn and grow in oncology support. Under supervision, technicians prepare medications, verify orders, manage inventory, and maintain compliance with state and USP guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Entry-level experience in a pharmacy.
• IV sterile compounding experience highly preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended unless required by state law.
• Level 2 requires IV skills and experience; IV certification preferred.
• Level Sr requires 5+ years in pharmacy with IV skills; oncology background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered by a physician adhering to guidelines.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes and unit conversions.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping per regulations.
• Dispose of materials used in mixing according to guidelines and law.
• Maintain temperature logs and QA documentation.
• Manage inventory and expiration dating; document quantities.
• Provide support across the medication-use continuum including labeling and data entry.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the admixture area and pharmacy.
