Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Nursing is required; Master's in a health-related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in adult inpatient services, ambulatory oncology, or operating room; oncology experience preferred.
  • Current Connecticut RN license is required.
  • Oncology Nursing Society certification (OCN, AOCN) desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Collect Level II patient data for new patients before initial visits.
  • Develop patient/family education plans based on assessments.
  • Alert Tumor Board Coordinator for treatment planning sessions.
  • Attend tumor board and document treatment plans.
  • Identify candidates for open clinical trials and communicate with the care team.
  • Oversee Intake Assistant performance and provide feedback.
  • Set and work toward annual professional development goals.
  • Perform clinic nurse functions as needed.
