Job summary

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute is seeking an Insurance Reviewer to support patients by navigating insurance portals and obtaining authorizations for infusion drugs, radiation, imaging, genetics, and surgeries. The role focuses on ensuring timely coverage to keep treatment pathways on track.

Ideal candidates have at least three years of prior authorization experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced oncology setting.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of prior authorization experience required. Revenue cycle experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, processes, and audits the medical necessity for treatments including radiation oncology, gynecologic surgery, genetic lab testing, imaging, and chemotherapy for each patient.
  • Communicates with nursing, physicians, and medical staff to inform them of restrictions or requirements in accordance with insurance plans.
  • Updates coding/payer guidelines for clinical staff and tracks pathways.
  • Obtains insurance authorization and pre-certification for oncology & hematology services.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws regarding patient records.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.
