Job summary

Precision Healthcare Specialists LLC is seeking an experienced full-time Authorization Specialist for a radiation oncology office in Florida. A minimum of 1 year of prior authorization experience is required, with willingness to train in Port Charlotte.

The role involves verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, and coordinating with physicians and billing to ensure smooth patient care. The position is in-office, with pay commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage, eligibility and benefits for scheduled procedures.
• Obtain authorizations and pre-certs as required by the insurer.
• Enter verification details in the patient accounting system with date/time/method.
• Communicate patient insurance status to physicians to determine plan feasibility.
• Coordinate with billing to ensure accurate information flow.
• Work in-office; training in Port Charlotte as needed.

We are currently looking for an experienced full-time Authorization Specialist for a radiation oncology office. Must have 1 year of prior authorizations experience. Must be willing to train in Port Charlotte.

The responsibilities of the insurance Authorization Specialist will include, but are not limited to the following:

• ensuring scheduled procedures are verified as covered through the patients insurance.
• verifying insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, obtaining authorizations and pre-certs as required by the individual insurance company for any appointments or procedures that the patient may be scheduled.
• entering complete verification, eligibility and benefit information in the patient accounting system to include the date, time and method used to obtain the verification/eligibility information for each patient.
• communicating with the physicians to assure they are aware of insurance status on their patients and whether or not they may proceed with plan.
• working closely with the billing department and assuring that accurate information is relayed to them.
• working in person, in the office with others is required. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
