Job summary

Mercy Coletta Cancer Center in the United States is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator for a full-time, on-site role. You will schedule procedures, enter patient information in the EHR, and coordinate with physicians and hospital staff to ensure timely patient care.

This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and knowledge of medical terminology. Schedule is 40 hours weekly, Days, Monday through Friday; Mercy offers a sign-on bonus to new team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years healthcare or clinical experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders and schedules patients for procedures and obtains proper documentation for required authorization.
• Follows site-specific protocols and maintains up-to-date documentation to ensure compliance.
• Utilizes phone, fax, and emails to communicate with patients, physicians, and hospital staff.
• Prepares patients for visit by accompanying patients to treatment room/area, documents vital signs, and other appropriate information in EHR per acceptable nursing practice.
• Creates referrals and checks for correct/matching CPT codes for procedures.
• Inputs physician orders, pertinent data, and retrieves reports from within the Electronic Health Record.
• Communicates and collaborates with internal departments in a timely manner and adheres to acceptable protocols of patient care.
• Responsible for managing scheduling details such as equipment, resources, and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
