Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Cancer Center is seeking a part-time IV Registered Nurse to administer outpatient chemotherapy and related infusions. The role includes patient education, accurate documentation, and coordination with the care team in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate holds an active Iowa RN license, ACLS, and oncology certification courses or equivalent experience. This position emphasizes safety, HIPAA compliance, and collaborative, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a program in professional nursing.
• Current RN license in the state of Iowa.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate course within 9 months.
• OCN certification preferred within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Administers chemotherapy and other anti-cancer drugs, cardiac infusions, COVID infusion treatments, and other outpatient infusions/injections.
• Provides accurate documentation of all outpatient infusion procedures and patient information.
• Triages patient calls and provides nursing interventions as needed.
• Collaborates with inter-disciplinary health care team to achieve outcomes.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and professional nursing standards.
• Demonstrates adaptability to changes in health care environment and supports process improvements.
