Job summary

South Shore Health System is seeking a Practice Coordinator II for our infusion unit in Massachusetts. The role is the first point of contact, handling check-in, scheduling for chemotherapy/immunotherapy, and coordinating complex visits with nursing and support staff.

The position emphasizes adherence to policies, prioritization, effective communication with patients and families, and collaboration with the oncology team to ensure timely, accurate patient flow and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and/or 4–6 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience in a medical setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated ability to carry out complex scheduling.
• Excellent customer service, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone; triage calls as necessary.
• Manage high-volume scheduling for chemotherapy/immunotherapy visits.
• Assist with patient check-in and check-out; verify demographics and insurance.
• Coordinate appointments with multiple providers and ancillary services.
• Support front desk and infusion unit operations; maintain waiting areas.
• Navigate Epic and other scheduling systems; ensure proper billing workflows.
