Job summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) at Brigham and Women's Hospital serves as a licensed clinician in the Oncology Infusion Department, providing assessment and management for adults with solid tumors and hematologic conditions. The role includes responding to acute reactions, ensuring infusion access, and collaborating with oncology teams to optimize patient care.

The APP will practice within BWH licensed infusion centers, four 10-hour days per week, onsite, with duties spanning direct patient care,

Qualifications

• Minimum two years actively practicing Physician Assistant in oncology.
• Experience as a responding clinician to acute adverse reactions.
• Ability to communicate complex clinical information to medical and lay audiences.
• Proficient in electronic medical records documentation and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Serve as infusion first responder for acute reactions and medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with longitudinal oncology teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide consultation to nurses and providers to improve infusion access.
• Write, modify and addend orders per current guidelines.
• Maintain licensure and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Participate in interdepartmental committees as appropriate.
• Monitor patient outcomes and support research efforts.
