Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide direct patient care while overseeing a team of APPs and other allied health staff.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, clinical excellence, and effective staff management. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, staff orientation, and ensuring billing compliance alongside quality assurance efforts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner required.
• Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in-state license required.
• 5–7 years experience as a licensed Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct management to a small to medium-sized team of APPs or other allied health professionals while continuing to spend the majority of time providing direct patient care as a Physician Assistant.
• Oversees performance of a team of APPs and/or other direct reports.
• Hires, manages, and completes performance appraisals for the team.
• Orients, trains, and schedules staff.
• Supports quality assurance programs to improve quality initiatives.
• Ensures continuing education and teaching for APPs.
• Acts as liaison between hospital, physicians, nursing staff, and APPs.
• Ensures APPs follow proper billing compliance rules and methodology.
