Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine seeks a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to support outpatient infusion services with a focus on oncology. The role emphasizes medication therapy management, precertification, and collaboration with nurse navigators and PBM processes.

You will oversee ambulatory medication access, manage prior authorizations, and provide education to staff and learners. A sign-on bonus up to $5,000 is available and the team is part of a world-class academic healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Illinois; Indiana licensure within 180 days.
• Board Certification in area of expertise required within 18 months (BCPS/BCOP/BCACP, etc.).
• Completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency.
• Strong teaching and precepting skills for students and residents.

Responsibilities

• Supports patient access efforts for outpatient medications in infusion and clinic spaces.
• Maintains communication with care team to update on treatment barriers or delays.
• Guides ambulatory medication access coordinators for free drug programs and restricted medications.
• Leads assigned patient service lines and clinical areas.
• Participates in quality improvement or research projects annually.
