Job summary

WakeMed Oncology Infusion Center is seeking an experienced Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to optimize safe, effective chemotherapy and lead infusion pharmacy initiatives in Raleigh. You will partner with providers and the pharmacy team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

The role includes reviewing orders in Epic/Beacon, counseling patients and families, and mentoring residents while contributing to research, quality improvement, and care plan development.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist with oncology/infusion experience.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and safe handling.
• Collaborative, team-focused with strong patient safety emphasis.
• PGY1/PGY2 Oncology Residency or BCOP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify provider orders for accuracy and safety.
• Prepare and dispense medications with timely infusion center operations.
• Counsel patients and families on medications and expectations.
• Provide drug information to physicians, nurses, and care teams.
• Contribute to clinical initiatives including order sets and care plans.
• Review chemotherapy and supportive care orders in Epic/Beacon.
• Participate in research, quality improvement, and clinical committees.
• Precept PGY1/PGY2 residents and pharmacy students.
