Job summary

BRCC is seeking a Physician Dispensing Assistant/MID Tech I to support in-office dispensing of oral oncology drugs. You will handle data entry, billing, and the accurate preparation of prescriptions under physician or pharmacist supervision.

You will also assist with prior authorizations, patient financial assistance, and inventory control, while maintaining documentation in the EHR and ensuring patient safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Entry-level position with experience in a retail pharmacy setting preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended unless required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records in the pharmacy system and screen for drug interactions.
• Process prescriptions, data entry, billing, and fulfillment for oncology prescriptions.
• Submit prior authorizations and coordinate with clinical staff for quick approvals.
• Assist with patient financial assistance and copay programs.
• Prepare and label prescriptions; obtain physician/pharmacist sign-off and patient signatures.
• Manage dispensary inventory, orders, recalls, and returns; ensure cost-effective drug procurement.
• Document all patient interactions in the EHR and monitor adherence/refill activity.
