Cardinal Health is hiring a Financial Counselor to support Navista patients by ensuring financial clearance and educating patients about costs and payment expectations before services. The role focuses on identifying financial risk and collaborating with clinical teams to improve revenue cycle outcomes.

Responsibilities include patient education, documentation, and proactive communication to minimize denials and ensure compliant, compassionate support for patients navigating healthcare costs.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle or business office roles.
• Strong knowledge of insurance, benefits, and patient financial assistance programs.
• Understanding of oncology treatment pathways and related billing.
• Familiarity with high-cost oncology drugs and specialty billing.
• Experience interpreting Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR/VOB systems.

Responsibilities

• Review daily schedules to identify patients needing financial clearance.
• Educate patients on deductible, copay, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs.
• Communicate treatment costs and payment expectations prior to services.
• Identify potential financial risks and escalate high-risk accounts.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to reduce risk of denials.
• Maintain accurate documentation of financial discussions with patients.
