Job summary

Planet Pharma is seeking an experienced Clinical Trial Manager to lead early-phase oncology trials, focusing on start-up, CRO oversight, enrollment, vendor management, and day-to-day trial operations across Phase 1 and Phase 2 programs. The role will initially oversee a Phase 1 study in Australia start-up, collaborating with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Significant clinical operations experience in biotech/pharma/CRO settings.
• Proven experience managing early-phase oncology trials (Phase 1).
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and global trial regulations.
• Demonstrated vendor management and start-up capabilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Experience with Australia-based start-up trials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational management of Phase 1 and Phase 2 oncology trials from start-up through closeout.
• Oversee a Phase 1 study currently entering start-up activities in Australia.
• Manage CROs, vendors, and service providers to meet milestones, quality, and timelines.
• Track study progress, enrollment, site activation, and key metrics.
• Coordinate start-up activities including site selection, initiation, regulatory submissions, and vendor implementation.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for internal teams, investigators, CROs, and partners.
• Develop and maintain study timelines, risk mitigation plans, and tracking tools.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and vendor spending with leadership and finance.
• Ensure protocol compliance with GCP/ICH and SOPs.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges impacting study execution.
• Facilitate study team meetings and provide status updates.
• Support inspection readiness and audit activities as required.
