Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a part-time Certified Nurse Assistant in Oncology for a day shift. The Patient Care Assistant helps patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the unit.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma, CNA certification, and BLS within 30 days of hire. Phlebotomy and EKG certifications are preferred; minimum six months' acute care experience is desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), state approved Certification.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
