Job summary

Texas Oncology in Denton and Decatur is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm role with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The position will be classified as level 2 or Sr based on experience.

The CMA will support physicians and clinicians in a clinical environment, perform patient care duties, handle clerical tasks, and help maintain efficient patient flow. Certification and relevant experience preferred; strong teamwork required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Inform physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
• Perform other administrative duties as requested.
