Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Certified Medical Assistant for the Oncology Unit at Perrysburg Medical Center. You will support the primary care physician, review health records, measure vital signs, and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.

Education includes a High School degree or GED with CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCCT-style certifications. BLS required at hire for the Perrysburg location; clerical and patient-facing duties are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have active Medical Assisting certification from a recognized certifying body (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, NCCT, etc.).
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire for certain locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH.
• One year of medical assistant healthcare experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits and verify diagnostic tests and records are accurate.
• Measure vital signs (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height).
• Perform clerical duties (inventory, stock supplies, referrals tracking, answer phones).
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
