UNC Medical Center's 4 Oncology unit in Chapel Hill, NC is hiring a Clinical Support Tech I for a dual Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator role. The position supports patient care, clerical tasks, and unit operations on a 36-hour work week with rotating shifts.

Requires a Nursing Assistant I Certification (NC DHHS) and English fluency; BLS certification preferred. This is an on-site state position with UNC Health benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nursing Assistant I Certification required (NC DHHS).
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Reviews patient care documentation and reports significant changes to RN or physician.
• Performs clerical tasks: organize workload, greet visitors, transcribe orders, maintain medical records, and conduct basic QA audits and data entry.
• Provides clinical support: clean work areas, troubleshoot equipment, change linens, restock supplies, transport patients and specimens, assist orientation of new staff.
• Provide direct personal care per plan of care (bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation), record vital signs, and assist with specimen collection when needed.
• Reinforces patient teaching and distributes education materials.
