Job summary

Vista Oncology is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in the preparation and stocking of chemotherapy medications, under supervision. You will coordinate with physicians, nursing staff and suppliers to obtain samples, teach aids, and compassionate drugs.

The role requires a High school diploma and a current PTCB or registered tech status, with 2–3 years in a clinical setting; oncology experience is preferred. Work may occur at multiple AON locations with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• State current PTCB Certification or Registered Pharmacy Technician.
• Two–three years’ experience in a clinical setting; oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mix chemotherapy drugs and solutions as prescribed by physicians under supervision.
• Order, stock and dispense medical supplies; coordinate with nursing and physicians.
• Maintain records pertaining to compassionate drugs and clinical studies, if applicable.
• Ensure safe disposal of biohazardous waste and maintain hood safety.
• Assist in training new staff on the Nucleus dispensing system.
