Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark is seeking an Oncology Clinic RN to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to oncology and hematology patients in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care coordination, symptom management, patient education, treatment planning support, triage, and collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality care throughout the patient's cancer journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited Nursing Program.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Provision of compassionate care.
• Minimum 3 years RN experience in Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and manage oncology patients during clinic visit.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and symptom management.
• Coordinate care, referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments.
• Perform telephone triage and respond to patient concerns in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with physicians, infusion staff, navigators, and support services to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Promote patient safety, quality care, and an exceptional patient experience.
