Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support the North Austin clinic. The role involves admixture room work and medication preparation under supervision, with regular hours Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and roughly 16 hours per week.

Positions are level 1, 2, or Sr based on experience. Texas Oncology is a leading community oncology provider with hundreds of sites and a mission to deliver high-quality cancer care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Entry-level experience in a pharmacy.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended unless required by state law.
• IV skills and oncology experience favored for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing under supervision.
• Check orders for completeness and verify patient information and physician authorization.
• Admix drugs as ordered by a physician in a timely and accurate manner.
• Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary units.
• Assist in controlled substance record keeping in accordance with regulations.
• Dispose of materials used in mixing in line with guidelines and law.
• Maintain/verify temperature logs and protocol logs.
• Manage inventory with proper lot numbers and expiration dating.
• Support labeling, documentation, pre-billing review, and medication orders as directed.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the admixture area and pharmacy.
