Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Puget Sound region seeks a Clinic Medical Assistant to keep daily operations smooth for patients and the clinical team. You will proactively prepare patient charts, gather up-to-date information, and support the provider during visits to ensure efficient care delivery.

You will perform basic lab and phlebotomy tasks, record vital signs, assist with injections as directed, and help with front office duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program at an accredited institution or validation of equivalent military training that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
• One year Medical Assistant work experience
• Medical Assistant Certification: WA, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Responsibilities

• Greets and prepares patients for practitioner visit; obtains and records vital signs and other information; assists with examinations under Provider supervision.
• Performs basic lab and phlebotomy procedures, draws blood, performs EKGs, and administers medications as directed.
• Documents visits in the electronic medical record and enters data as directed by the provider.
• Reviews medical documentation for accuracy and communicates results to patients as appropriate.
• Maintains instruments, rooms, and supply inventory; plans for provider needs.
• Schedules appointments and processes referrals; may assist with front office duties including billing and registration.
• Coordinates patient flow and provides clear telephone communication.
