Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to help keep the clinic running smoothly and support the care team. You will proactively prepare patient charts, collect vital signs, and ensure records are complete and up-to-date for daily visits.

You will perform basic lab work, phlebotomy, EKGs, and administer approved medications under supervision. Strong empathy and efficiency are essential in delivering patient-centered care across the Puget Sound region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program, or equivalent military training.
• Medical Assistant certification (WA) required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for visits; obtain and record vital signs and basic information.
• Perform basic lab work, phlebotomy, EKGs and administer medications as directed by a provider.
• Pend orders for labs and radiology for provider sign-off when appropriate.
• Document visits and procedures in the electronic medical record per procedures.
• Enter and validate patient history, exam results, education, diagnoses and instructions.
• Review medical documentation to ensure accuracy of the medical record.
