Job summary

United States-based oncology practice is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians at the North Office in Fairfield. The role involves patient care duties, exam preparation, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow in a clinical environment.

The position is an entry level opportunity with 0–3 years of MA or nursing assistant experience, requiring High School diploma, MA program certification and BCLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Entry level position; 0–3 years experience as MA or nursing assistant.
• Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred; state-specific certs may be required.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms as appropriate.
• Record patient data prior to visits, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records as required by physician before treatment or procedures.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Current BCLS certification within 3 months of hire
