Job summary

UF Health Leesburg Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an oncology-focused role. Under the direction of the director and charge nurse, you will assess patients, plan and implement care, and evaluate outcomes in a high-quality cancer care setting.

Responsibilities include documentation, adherence to core measures, and participation in education and PI initiatives, with emphasis on compassionate patient and family interactions during complex treatment journeys.

Qualifications

• ADN required.
• BSN preferred.
• Florida RN license.
• BLS certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• ONS Biotherapy certification within 3 months of hire.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required (within 6 months).
• Strong communication, attention to detail and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates safe, best outcome nursing care aligned with Core Measures.
• Documents care provided per departmental standards.
• Adheres to HCAHPS behaviors to ensure a positive patient experience.
• Completes assigned work within scheduled time.
• Participates in committees, PI projects, and peer mentoring.
• Attends staff meetings and completes required competencies and education.
• Seeks training and certification in oncology nursing.
• Other duties as assigned.
