Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Oncology Nurse to provide compassionate care to patients and families across the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up. You will perform assessments, administer chemotherapy, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

The role emphasizes documentation, safety, and continuous learning, with opportunities to support patients throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
IL RN license issued by IDFPR or approved state board.
Education: HS Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support the healthcare team.
Completes initial patient assessment and develops a care plan.
Implements and monitors plan of care and nursing interventions.
Ensures patient and employee safety and reports safety hazards.
Communicates with team and provides constructive feedback for professional development.
Performs patient care duties including assessments, IV starts, dressing changes, and administering medications.
Administers Chemotherapy/Biotherapy to patients on the Oncology unit and hospital-wide.
