Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking a Charge Nurse for the Oncology Department at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. This full-time night position leads the nursing team, assigns duties, and ensures high-quality patient care on the 6:30 PM–7:00 AM shift with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required or certification in a specialty area.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Indiana and one to two years of progressively more responsible nursing experience is also required.

Responsibilities

• As Oncology Department Charge Nurse, you’ll report to the Director and/or Manager and coordinate patient care for a designated shift.
• Assigns job duties and patient care to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective care.
• Collaborates with other professional, clinical, and ancillary staff to provide quality care to patients.
• Maintain unit productivity by adjusting staffing and ensuring appropriate bed utilization.
• Plan and direct nursing actions with leadership to meet patient needs and outcomes.
