Oncology Consultants in Houston (Memorial City) seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to support physicians in patient care and teaching. The role involves prescribing, evaluating trials, and leading rounds with a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum 5 years oncology APRN/PA experience, APRN/PA license, prescriptive privileges, and BLS are required. Works at Memorial City with potential overtime and travel up to 25%.

Qualificações

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program.
• Master’s degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state; prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
• Current ANCC or ONS certification (AOCN-P).
• Current BLS certification.

Responsabilidades

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by interview, health history, physical examination, and diagnostic studies.
• Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, and therapeutic measures per protocols.
• Determine eligibility of patients for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret and evaluate findings of studies/tests.
• Relay information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician.
• Administer therapeutic measures or obtain specimens as prescribed.
• Dictate follow-up letters, histories, admissions, progress, and discharge notes.
• Assist in management of family dynamics and coping during care.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds; provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
• Document and report care accurately using forms and records; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Assist in training new employees; flexible to work at any location and overtime as needed.
