Job summary

Oncology Consultants - Pearland is seeking a licensed APRN/PA to assist physicians in patient care and teaching within a fast-paced oncology setting near Houston.

The role requires a Master's degree, oncology APRN/PA experience, prescriptive privileges, and BLS certification. You will participate in rounds, coordinate trials, and ensure HIPAA compliance while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant program.
• Master's degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state.
• Prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
• Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P).
• Current BLS.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients by interview, health history, physical exam, and diagnostics.
• Write prescriptions for medications and therapies per protocols.
• Determine eligibility for entry into clinical trials.
• Interpret and evaluate study findings.
• Relay care information to the collaborating physician.
• Provide on-call coverage and hospital rounds as needed.
• Lead daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients.
• Document care accurately using appropriate forms and records.
• Assist in crisis or emergency staff situations.
• Meet with the public to promote cancer treatment.
• Determine work priorities and supervise staff to complete tasks.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and compliance.
