Job summary

American Oncology Network is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist physicians in patient care and teaching within an oncology setting. The role includes performing rounds, triaging patients, and supporting multi-disciplinary teams.

The position requires an APRN or PA license with prescriptive privileges, current BLS, and a strong emphasis on documentation, patient privacy, and ongoing learning in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant program.
• Master’s degree required.
• APRN or PA license in appropriate state with prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
• Current certification from ANCC or ONS (AOCN-P).
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients through interviews, histories, exams, and diagnostic studies.
• Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, diagnostics, and post-discharge care per protocols.
• Determine eligibility for clinical trials based on findings.
• Interpret study results and communicate findings to the physician.
• Provide on-call coverage and participate in hospital rounds as needed.
• Triage patients to determine urgency of physician evaluation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records in healthcare systems.
