Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking an Onboarding Specialist (Contract) in Santa Clara, CA. The role is a 6-month contract managed via staffing partners; you will own the new hire onboarding experience from offer to Welcome Day, coordinating with Workday Onboarding and related systems in a hybrid work arrangement.

You will generate offers, manage background checks, ensure data accuracy across Workday and other platforms, and propose scalable improvements with the Staffing Operations team.

Qualifications

• High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Flexible, highly organized, and able to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and deadlines in a global, dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in handling high volumes of work and multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity environment.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite or GSuite.
• Understanding of the entire candidate/employee lifecycle and ability to recommend process‑oriented, technical, or operational solutions.
• Meticulous attention to detail with consistent follow‑up.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Background check experience preferred.
• Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, and DocuSign is a plus.

• Manage offer generation, background checks through a third party vendor, identity verification through a third party vendor, and accurate onboarding data in Workday, SmartRecruiters, and other systems.
• Adhere to processes and adjudication guidelines, while thinking outside the box for issues that arise and providing recommendations before proceeding.
• Provide early intervention and support to resolve issues, and help implement long‑term solutions.
• Serve as a key member of the Staffing Operations team, offering ideas and suggestions to address gaps or roadblocks, and presenting scalable solutions.
• Share best practices and improvement ideas that positively impact the team.
• Support a variety of administrative activities requiring knowledge of organizational procedures, methodologies, and business practices.
• Own the entire new hire’s onboarding experience, coordinating via the Workday Onboarding platform and email to communicate requirements, background check documentation, and Welcome Day; ensure all information is returned promptly.

This role is a contract assignment at Palo Alto Networks. Contractors will not be employed by Palo Alto Networks but through our trusted staffing partners. You will play a pivotal role in demonstrating our company culture and making a great first impression. This individual will provide a positive onboarding experience to all new hires from the offer stage through their first week at Palo Alto Networks.

Compensation

The compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly wage is $30 to $35. Magnit (the staffing agency) offers medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits. No sponsorship or visa assistance is available.
