Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as an HRIS and/or Payroll Analyst preferred.
  • Extensive Workday experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of garnishment regulations is a plus.

Job Summary

The Payroll Support Specialist—Onboarding will provide technical and payroll processing support to the PR Services team, supporting our customer base. The specialist will respond to inbound inquiries, some of which may be escalations, and communicate appropriate resolutions. They will also perform root cause analysis and develop innovative solutions to enhance service quality and process improvements.

Job Description

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical resource on systems, processes, procedures, and compliance related to onboarding new and upgrading payroll customers.
  • Ensure Workday and internal system configurations meet OSV standards before the first payroll.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and employees to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Provide SOP and technical solutions for onboarding issues.
  • Support processors and specialists with complex configuration questions during onboarding.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data to improve onboarding quality and efficiency.
  • Assist in resolving complex customer escalations alongside customer team leadership.
  • Identify root causes of service issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Support Payroll Operations Community of Practice training on Workday and related systems.
  • Lead and develop customer training webinars on payroll services.
  • Proactively identify and resolve complex processes and technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and payment processing standards.
  • Test new and existing system functionalities following updates or software releases.
  • Contribute to departmental goals and procedures through feedback and collaboration.
  • Develop, review, and update process documentation with input from business partners.
  • Perform other duties as needed based on business priorities.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Workday Payroll Certification is required; CPP highly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of tax requirements (for Tax Support Specialists).
  • Knowledge of garnishment regulations (for Garnishment Support Specialists).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HRIS and/or Payroll Analyst preferred.
  • Extensive Workday experience highly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of handling complex customer service or account management issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Payroll outsourcing experience is a plus.
