Job summary

Stack AV is seeking a Software Engineer, Onboard Infrastructure, to help advance Clockwork and StackOS on Pittsburgh-based hardware or remote environments. You will design, implement, and optimize high-performance software powering autonomous driving systems, including logging, sensors, and deployment tooling.

The role emphasizes C++ systems programming, multi-threaded architectures, Linux environments and collaboration across Autonomy, Cloud and Safety teams.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++ with multi-threading and memory management.
• Experience in safety-critical, high-performance software.
• Strong POSIX/Linux and concurrent programming fundamentals.
• Experience with performance evaluation and optimization is highly desired.
• Domain experience in autonomous driving, robotics or related industry.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency logging for telemetry, events and console data.
• Develop features and optimizations for Clockwork with Autonomy, Cloud and Safety teams.
• Improve performance, reliability and usability of Clockwork in resource-constrained environments.
• Contribute to sensor interface prototyping, development and maintenance for perception systems.
• Ensure high-quality software through automated testing and code reviews.
