Job summary

FEV North America, Inc. seeks an Onboard Charging (OBC) Systems Engineer to develop, integrate, validate, and optimize charging solutions for electrified vehicles. You will create system requirements, control strategies, and contribute to hardware/software verification.

Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with automotive safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards; perform MiL/SiL/HiL testing and vehicle validation.

Qualifications

• Develop system and functional requirements for onboard charging systems.
• Design and optimize charging control strategies for AC charging applications.
• Lead integration of onboard charging with vehicle HV architectures.
• Support hardware and software development for prototype and production charging solutions.
• Perform system verification and validation: MiL/SiL/HiL and vehicle tests.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system-level and functional requirements for onboard charging systems.
• Design, develop, and optimize charging control strategies for AC charging applications.
• Lead the integration of onboard charging systems with vehicle high-voltage architectures.
• Support hardware and software development activities for prototype and production charging solutions.
• Perform system verification and validation activities, including MiL, SiL, HiL, bench, and vehicle testing.
• Analyze charging performance, efficiency, thermal behavior, reliability, and fault management strategies.
• Develop and execute test plans to validate charging functionality and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with software, controls, calibration, and hardware engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support issue investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Ensure compliance with automotive safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews, design evaluations, and customer discussions.
