Job summary

RWS Global is seeking an A/V Technician – Sound for onboard Azamara ships. You will operate and troubleshoot sound systems for rehearsals, shows, and events, reporting to the A/V Manager.

The role requires a Theatre/Production background, 1+ year AV experience, and proficiency with digital consoles and QLab. You may also assist with lighting and video as needed, ensuring safe, high‑quality performances at sea.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatre (Production or Technical) or equivalent in-field experience.
• Minimum of one year of experience in audio-visual functions within an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, entertainment, or recreational industry (shipboard experience preferred).
• Demonstrated proficiency with digital mixing consoles and QLab.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all sound systems across assigned entertainment venues for rehearsals, shows, special events, and other onboard activities.
• Design and/or implement sound and stage effect designs for shows and events, as required.
• Create and maintain backup vocal tracks for singers during production show changeovers and on an ad‑hoc basis.
• Set up and assume responsibility for the projection of films, video movies, and other assigned media playback.
• Act as an audio-visual troubleshooter to resolve equipment or stage-related issues as delegated by the A/V Manager.
• Meet with guest entertainers and external groups to review and fulfill audio requirements for upcoming rehearsals, performances, and events.
