Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Sioux Falls, SD to provide essential on-track safety services for railroads and partners. You will coordinate train movements with tablets and dispatchers, report safety findings, and manage field operations on active tracks.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to travel long periods. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel 50–85% of the time.
• Experience in a railroad environment preferred, with safety focus.
• Proficiency with mobile devices to coordinate train movements and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety tools and derails setup.
• Prepare daily field reports and document rule violations.
• Coordinate job-site activities and communicate with dispatchers.
• Conduct thorough pre-entry safety briefings with crew.
• Enforce railroad, state, and federal policies.
